location münstermaifeld
genre short film | fiction | historical
With MAIFELD, I completed my studies at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Cologne. The project is very close to my heart. Not only because it is a testimony to what I worked for in the three years of my studies, but because the story is a very personal one.
MAIFELD is inspired by true events and named after the landscape in the Middle Rhine region. Hannelore, my protagonist, is based on my grandmother, who was clearly ahead of her time. She never let other people's opinions stop her from going her own way. Like her, Hannelore lives by her own rules and stands up for herself and her friends - no matter where they may come from.
My film is about being true to yourself and is intended to encourage women in particular to live with, but certainly not
for their husbands. It deals with emancipation, friendship and life in the countryside with all its advantages and challenges.
The project, which was shot in August 2023, was supported by the Filmfunding NRW with €20,000 and has already achieved initial success at independent international festivals. It celebrated its world premiere at this year's RIFFA (Regina International Film Festival and Awards)!
